This place has a very good selection of Afghan food. It is not very visible from the road, but it is worth the effort to come here. Afghan food is very similar to Indian and other South Asian foods. It tends not to be as spicy as Indian food, being more similar to North Indian than South Indian. This place has fewer vegetarian options than an Indian grocery store, and more meats. There is a halal deli with a very good selection. There is a good selection of flour, bread, beans, grains, and spices. It is slightly expensive but the prices are reasonable. There is a variety of pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils. The facilities are clean and well maintained. No complaints.

Amazing Afghan grocery with so much available. The sad news is their restaurant is no more. They do, however sell Bolani and Afghani style Samoa's and desserts. Highly Recommend!

We went into Afghan Market yesterday, looking for liquid saffron. There is so much variety in that store! We found many different kinds of tea, nuts, and naan bread, for example. I asked the cashier if they had any liquid saffron, and he said, "No, we just ran out, but it will taste better if you just put 3-6 strands of regular/solid saffron into the bottom of your teapot when you make the tea. I tried the liquid saffron, and it just didn't taste good." I was very impressed that this gentleman would take the time to tell me what was good - and frankly, probably cheaper - and give me the basic recipe for good saffron tea. My husband went crazy in the nuts section, and we came home with two of his favorite kinds of nuts. So - yes - we definitely will return to this store.

Afghan Market is a hidden gem, literally! Located off of Edsall, you have to drive on the side 'service road' past 7-Eleven, and it's right behind the convenience store. The market seemed to have been renovated recently or so; I am loving the blue lights on the display shelves up at the front! The aisles are narrow, so for those who tend to get claustrophobic, be aware! Definitely a '1-way' type of deal here! All the items are neatly arranged and well-organized - love it! There is a 'to-go' eatery in the back; just check out the menu that's posted and put your order in at the front with the cashier, along with any other products you are purchasing. We tried their koobideh and the chicken kabob combo, which came with a side of bread, tons of rice, and a grilled tomato with some white sauce - the food was super fresh, made-to-order, and very filling & generous! I also picked up some coffee candy, their beef and chicken samosas (think of the crust being similar to a saltena), a leek-filled bolani, and a couple of bottles of Lebanese carbonated drinks. The staff here are friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of items to just peruse through - the snacks, the bakery cases, the butcher on-site with the variety of halal meats, freezer items, and dishware. There's parking available in the small lot. +tasty koobideh! +friendly staff! +parking available in the small lot +located behind 7-Eleven off of Edsall

One of the best international grocery store I have ever seen you can find everything you need including your bakery needs freshly made everyday the meat section is excellent however I have been shopping for more than 2 decades and have the best experience with Afghan Market!

If you are looking for delicious delights, this is the place to go. The jalebi sold at this market is incomparable to any other with the perfect crisp to chewy ratio. The assortment of baklava is enough to make any sweet-tooth excited about their purchase. The range of delights included is huge, allowing everyone to eat something enjoyable.

Fantastic food and nice, easy atmosphere. It has been placed with new management from my understanding and has greatly improved. My family and I had the chicken and lamb and it was one of the best Afghan meals I've had in awhile. Price was solid too!
